Checking Clinics

Spring 2024

Get your player ready for competitive contact and checking with Phil Oberlin, the former Austin Ice Bats head coach and now the assistant coach of the Corpus Christy IceRays in the North American Hockey League.

When:  June 1st and 2nd

Where:  The Crossover Gold rink

Cost:  $50

Who:  Players from birth years 2006-2011

What:  Players will be grouped by similar age and skill for drills. Focus will be on heads up contact, receiving and giving checks, angling and attacking through the hands.

Details for 2010-2011 age group:  Saturday June 1st 3:00 pm check-in outside Gold rink

3:15-4:00 pm off-ice full gear checking session (running shoes, full gear, stick and helmet)

4:15-5:15 pm on-ice clinic

Sunday June 2nd 7:45-8:45 am on-ice clinic
