Texas Rising Stars

The Texas Rising Stars are the AMHA's house (recreational) league that focuses on player development at the 6U through 14U ages. There is also an option to participate on tournament teams. Players sign up for their designated age group and add the tournament option if wanted. They attend a two week training camp September 9th-22nd where their skills are evaluated and then they are broken into teams. The teams practice 1 x per week, have 1 dryland/hockey IQ session per week and have 1 game per week against teams at their level. The 6U age group are not broken onto teams, but rather play games against same skilled players for their game options. The Season runs September 9th through March 8th.

6U & 8U - FUNdamentals. Agility-Balance-Coordination, speed, comfort with contact. Basic hockey skill acquisition. Foundation. Rules and concepts.

10U & 12U - Learn to Train. Skill acquisition and advanced speed concepts, habits, comfort with contact. Environmental cues shape action. Introduction to how concepts and habits=team play.

14U - Training to Train. On-ice and fitness training should be individualized, competition results should still be secondary. Training volume increases, complementary sports are still recommended. Players tend to decide if they want to continue at recreational level or specialize in ice hockey.

6U - 2 day option: $599 league fee

8U - 2 day option: $899 league fee

8U - tournament team option: $799* league fee + $999 tourney team fee

10U - 2 day option: $1099 league fee

10U - Tournament team option: $999* league fee + $999 tourney team fee

12U - 2 day option: $1099 league fee

12U - Tournament team option: $999* league fee + $999 tourney team fee

14U - 2 day option: $1099 league fee

14U - Tournament team option: $999* league fee + $999 tourney team fee

6U - Practice at Ice and Field on Monday 5:15-6:15 OR Friday at Chaparral NC 5:15-6:15, Games Saturday mornings.

8U- Practice at Ice and Field on Wednesday 4:00-5:00 OR Friday at Chaparral NC 5:15-6:15 OR Friday at Ice and Field 5:15-6:15. Games on Saturday morning, Tournament team option Ice and Field Sunday morning.

10U- Practice at Ice and Field on Friday 5:15-6:15/5:45-6:45 OR Friday at Chaparral NC 6:30-7:30. Games on Saturday morning. Tournament team option Ice and Field Sunday morning.

12U- Practice at Ice and Field on Monday evening 7:00-8:45 pm time frame OR Friday at Chaparral NC 6:30-7:30. Games on Saturday mornings. Tournament team option Ice and Field Sunday morning.

14U- Practice at Ice and Field on Friday evenings 7:00-8:45 pm time frame. Games on Saturday afternoons. Tournament team option Ice and Field Sunday morning.
