Junella Sgro, memorial details

On Monday, January 13th at 9:19 am the Austin hockey community suffered a great loss.  Junella Sgro, an exceptional hockey mom, volunteer, friend, wife, daughter, aunt and cousin went on to, “help God get organized up in Heaven”.  Junella embodied the spirit of love and giving to every organization and family who needed it.  She was a volunteer on the AMHA board as webmaster and helped shape the future of hockey in Austin through her direction and countless hours of work.  Junella would have done anything for her four hockey playing children Julianna, Josiah, Jayden, and JT as well as her husband John. She was team mom for every single team she could do it for and treated all of the kids as if they were her own.  She was taken suddenly from us, and as we prayed for a miracle, the miracle of saving others became the path that was chosen for Junella.  She was an organ donor and so she gave the gift of life to several others in her passing.  Hundreds of friends and family lined the hallway of the ICU to the surgery center to support her and her family as she began the next step in her journey.

Junella lives in all of us, her love, her patience, her hard work.  Show your love for each other in your hockey community, be kind, volunteer your time and help make everyone’s journey on this planet brighter and better.  Be the love that is Junella.
